A consortium of storytellers and advocates for older adults
Our three focus areas: Elevate the voices of older adults, change the narrative on aging, and advocate for digital inclusion

Elevating and Supporting Older Adults
Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and to feel valued. This shouldn’t change as we grow older. Sadly, many older adults are overlooked and forgotten.
Silver Scaffold’s mission is to change the narrative on aging and celebrate the oldest members of our society. We also want to provide a platform for those who are 65 and older by creating awareness of their needs and drawing attention to obstacles that prevent them from thriving.
As our world grows increasingly digital, the need to be able to access and use technology is abundantly clear. Digital inclusion is one of Silver Scaffold’s three priorities.

Older People Will Soon Outnumber Children
Life expectancy is increasing in high- and upper-middle-income countries. Being more inclusive of older adults and anticipating and preparing for aging is not only smart, but the right thing to do.
According to the World Health Organization, by 2050, the aging population will double with 400 million people 80 years and older. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that by 2030, one in every five residents will be of retirement age and that by 2034, older people will outnumber children for the first time in U.S. history.

Who Benefits?
Regardless of age, race, religion, education, veteran status, gender, disability status, and any other differentiator, we all benefit in a society when we value each other.
